“I Hate Invisalign! Worst Mistake of...”
Start by saying after 2 years of failed Invisalign treatment, I FINALLY went to an Orthodondist (not Dentist) for a second opinion. He says he sees people like me all the time: people who's Dentists mislead them into Invisalign treatment that did not work. My Dentist had no idead that my teeth could not be fixed by Invisalign because the product is limited in what it can do. First of... more
“Just Got Invisalign - Brooklyn, NY”
I am a 40 year old with overcrowding on my top two teeth, they overlap. And severe overcrowding on the bottom. I just got my first set of aligners. I was worried after reading reviews here that they would cut my gums and hurt. They actually don't hurt at all. The first day they were hard to get out of my mouth, but they've loosened up and now it's much easier. I'm really... more
“So Far So Good - Brooklyn, NY”
I'm 41 and have crowded teeth on both upper and lower. I thought my lower teeth were so crowded I wouldnt be a candidate but I just thought I'd give it a try. Went to the dentist, he said I was a candidate and the same day I had xrays, an exam and molds taken. The dentist recommended to me to have a deep cleaning to get my teeth in good health before I start the program. Cost was... more
“Invisalign Patient, Excited to See...”
I have had invisalign for 6 months now. I have seen good improvement in my upper teeth. I have nine trays left for my lower teeth which needed more work. I will try to post a picture when I'm done. more
“Help! 6th Day and Very Painful”
I am excited to have started invisalign... however i have been combating with a ton pain since I started.I eat frequently throughout the day so I have to take my trays off to brush them about 5-6 times a day. Tonight my gums seem very tender and swollen and i keep getting cold sores in my mouth. I have researched online and have not seen anyone else with these symptoms... HAS ANYONE ELSE... more
“If You Have Minor Gum Recession and...”
Plus $700 in additional lab fees to continue after after 1 year. Firstly, I had some minor gum recession on the bottom and one very slight crooked tooth (3 one from center that was so minimal you would never know). I was upset about the sudden spaces and my dentist suggested invisalign. Now I am finishing off the invisalign, no spaces are closed in fact slightly worse. The slight crooked more
“In the Midst of Invisalign Treatment”
So far so good. My dentist is excellent. I'll be able to comment more fully once my treatment has been completed but it looks as though it's going well; my dentist has said I won't even need any refinements! I'm in the midst of invisalign treatment. I will have five more trays for my lower teeth than for my uppers and am also getting two porcelain veneers placed on my upper... more
“So It Begins.... Day One W/ Invisalign”
Was thinking about Invisalign treatment for a few years but being a student, i couldn't afford it. After i graduated and got a pretty good job, i decided to go to my local orthodontist and check it out. I liked what i heard and decided to go for it. After some haggling, i arranged to have this done for $3800 (dentist was initially asking for $4900). I had the molds done and waited about 6... more
“Invisalign Rocks - Forces a Better...”
Forces a really great lifestyle - no snacking, drinking lots of water, and brushing like crazy.Nobody can tell that I'm wearing them! So it's a great alternative to having a metal mouth as an adult. more
I have used Invisalign and love the results.I recommend you ask friends and family for a referral, because some of my friends did not have a good expierience, and their dentist pushed them to invisalign when they should of had braces instead. Invisalign is not for everyone... YET. more
“Invisalign is Working Well So Far -...”
I just started treatment with my first tray and have had it in for two weeks now. The first few days there was pressure, no pain. It felt foreign and felt like my teeth couldn't breathe. I have gotten used to the feeling with the aligners in and sometimes i forget i have anything on my teeth now. When i remove the aligners to eat, i can definately tell my teeth are a little sore when... more
“Happy with Invisalign, Fixing...”
I'm 56 years old and my bottom teeth are starting to get very crooked. A con of Invisalign is that -- depending on where your buttons are, they can show. However, I was already self-conscious about smiling with my teeth showing, so the buttons are a minor concern for me. A con, of course is the cost, with the cost being especially high in New York City. However, my orthodontist has a... more
“First Set of Trays, Self-Conscious...”
I have somewhat of a minor underbite, so the plan is to push my bottom teeth in, and at the same time close two minor gaps on my lower teeth. My plan involves 16 trays on my lower teeth, 11 on top. So this is my second week on my first set of trays and I can't stop thinking about my aligners. I'm consciously aware of them whereever I go and no matter what I'm doing. My ortho drilled on the... more
“Satisfied Beyond Expectations”
I had horrible teeth, especially my canines, my two front teeth, and my bite. My dentist was offering a promotional product called invisalign, which was about $3,000 less than his charge for metal braces. I did it, and a year and a half later, I have beautiful straight white teeth (after a whitening), and a perfect bite. While the plates can be uncomfortable, or even more
I'm changing to tray 3 today, and my treatment is going great so far. I have a mild case and need 9 sets of aligners in total. So far with tray 2 finished, i have definitely noticed movements of my teeth.I had 2 spaces filed between my bottom teeth, but it's really not that noticeable, especially when you have your trays on. Other than this, I personally see a benefit in frequent brushing... more
“Final Tray, Unhappy with Results -...”
I have a little bit of a crossbite, and some crowding. I need to have 18 trays so about 36 weeks of treatment in total. No buttons, but I do need shaving. I am on my first tray on day number 4. First three days very uncomfortable especially after taking off. Uncomfortable to eat since teeth feel shaky. Nothing a little Motrin didnt help. Now more comfortable, but still taking with a... more
Invisalign was awesome! I wore braces as a kid and after 40 years my bottom teeth had really moved (almost criscrossed) and my upper teeth had moved out and one front tooth had moved as well.. Here it is 13 months later and my smile is really beautiful.. Don't hesitate for a moment - but you MUST be diligent and wear the braces!!! If you don't, you're just wasting your time and money. more
“Worth It!!! But Do Get a Thorough...”
I had always been a bit unhappy with my teeth but after an auto accident (and after 14 mos of physical therapy/chiropractic care) my bite was off and it became more than a vanity issue. I had 2 friends who completed invisalign treatment and they looked wonderful! I went to their dentist, who confirmed i was the perfect candidate for the procedure. (To begin after bringing my teeth up to par... more
“Just Got my Invisalign Yersterday”
I just got my trays yesterday. I'm a little nervous after reading these reviews. I went to a regular dentist and not an ortho. I have 10 attachments (which I was not told I would be getting) and the pain has me crying like a baby. I've been taking advil and it gets better after a few minutes. I'm definitely going to take the advice of everyone here wear my aligners 22 hours a day, clean them... more
I'm on week three and so far so good. The first few days I wanted to crawl out of my skin. It felt like I ate a plate of ribs and had stuff stuck inbetween EVERY SINGLE TOOTH. I only need a lower tray, thankfully. Basically, Invisalign is a little uncomfortable almost all the time - but you just suck it up and deal with it and then it is no big problem (whadayya think? It was gonna feel good?)... more
“Low-maintenance, High Results”
Obviously, everyone is going to be different, but I've had a very fortunate experience with my Invisalign braces. I am considered a "traditional case," which means I am going to be wearing my Invisalign braces for an entire year. I am 5 months in and still very satisfied with the progress and the ease of wear. For those looking to buy into Invisalign, it's important to note that I was... more
