Hi, I received a mild salicylic acid peel 24 hours ago. I do not feel any tightness and my skin has not started to flake yet. When will it start to flake and for how long? Thank you!
In my experience people tend to peel 1-3 days after a salicylic acid peel. It may not be dramatic as this is a light peel. The skin might just feel tight and dry.
Is it ok to shave the day after you have a 20% Salicylic peel? Or will the skin be too sensitive?
I have good skin texture, it's pretty smooth. Since I have hormonal acne, I go in stages where my skin is beautiful but then I get 2-3 pimples that leaves dark spots and it takes a few months before they go away. I have Black skin and currently use Retin A and a Benzoyl Peroxide cleaner and Lactic peels or Glycolic peels on occasion. I was thinking of replacing the Glycolic peel with Salicylic acid to prevent acne and brighten skin tone and getting rid of dark spots.
