I have been contemplating having laser hair removal for a while, so I was happy to learn there was finally a laser safe for darker skin tones, the Nd:YAG laser. I am a black women with a medium dark complexion and very dark brown hair. I just got my third treatment (of six) today for under arms and so far I am very happy with the results. My treatments are spaced 5-6 weeks apart. The... more
I am writing because I started laser hair removal in January. I have had good results to the fact that I have no ingrown hairs at all. After trying electrolysis I broke out and my skin was very red on my face. I had no irritation after laser and my skin cleared up. It takes getting used to the light flash but it's very fast and doesn't hurt like I thought. I am very happy with the results. more
I had bought the tria laser to try & get some cheap laser hair removal & it wasn't working but then I saw a groupon for laser hair removal & since it was less money than the tria I decided to give it a try. Every time I went in there the staff was great & I was in & out in 20 minutes. The first few times I went it hurt but after each treatment I would notice that within... more
I had experienced laser treatments from 2 facilities, both of which I purchased from Groupon. I am skin type VI and I was looking to treat my bikini area. The first facility used a CoolGlide Nd:Yag laser. I did research and found that it was compatible with my skin type so I decided to go for it. I was nervous about getting it done but from what I read about other people's experience, it... more
I first tried laser hair removal at a well advertised and reputable place in NYC for my underarms. After six treatments, I'd say 90% has been removed. The remaining are very sporadic and fine - so not a problem. But I was a little concerned that each time I went, they used a different machine on me - sometimes laser, sometimes IPL. I'd say I'm 8 out of 10 in satisfaction. So when... more
I used to have very coarse hair on my bikini line, thighs and legs and very bad in-growths as well--I couldn't shave or wax. I also has coarse hair on my chin and noticeable hair on upper lip and about 4-5 thick , isolated hairs growing on my neck.I first went to a doctor who said that Alexandrite laser was good for my skin (that was the only machine he had). Alhtough I had only villous hair... more
I have pale skin but dark hair. I used to bleach the hair on my upper lip, but started to have a reaction to the bleach. I also got an infection from the bleaching that stained my skin for a year! To top it off, I still had a moustache...just a golden blond one... So I tried waxing. I lost the feeling in my upper lip and had an infection again, it was awful! So I decided to try Laser hair... more
I have had several laser hair removal treatments, 12 to the chin and neck, 1 so far on my mustash, and 5 on my legs, underarms, and brazilian bikini. I have to say that although it took longer than the prescribed "6 treatments" to remove the hair from my chin and neck, I do see a marked improvement. I had hoped to be completely hair free. The few hairs remaining are lighter in... more
