Breast Surgery

Post-Pregnancy Procedures
Every mommy makeover is unique, but it typically involves a combination of a tummy tuck and a breast enhancement surgery, such as a breast augmentation or a breast lift, with or without breast implants. Implant selection should be based on a combination of your desired size, soft tissue dynamics, breast base diameter, and skin elasticity. For patients with overly large and droopy breasts, which can cause back and neck pain, a breast reduction is similar to a lift—the only difference being how much breast tissue is removed. A tummy tuck removes the excess skin and fat from the upper and lower abdomen. In my Beverly Hills practice, I often also perform liposuction of the flanks to achieve a smoother contour of the waist and create the “Coke-bottle shape” many of my patients want. Though he initially intended to become a neurosurgeon, his experiences in China treating children born with congenital malformations, like cleft lips and cleft palates, led him to the field of plastic surgery. He has also treated children in Haiti and Thailand, and volunteered at a leprosy camp in India.
Dr. Desai is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His research has been published in medical journals like the Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery, and he has authored seven textbook chapters.
