Hi, I am 32 yrs old. I had face paralysis about 5 yrs ago and left synkinesis on one side which destroyed my beautiful smile and of course, slightly sagging on the same side.
It bothers me a lot. I thought about Facelifting but one of the aesthetician told me I am still young for that. I really feel self-conscious so I am thinking about having non-surgery face lifting like "Happy Lift" or something similar. If you can suggest something, I can research it at least. I appreciate for any answers. Regards.
Facial synkinesis and spasm around the mouth can be improved with targeted Botox injections into the muscles creating the spasm. Usually this involves injecting the mentalis (chin muscle), zygomaticus major and minor (muscles that pull up the nasolabial fold), and depressor anguli oris (muscle that pulls down the corner of the mouth). Also, there are wonderful biofeedback techniques that can be taught by a physical therapist specially trained in facial nerve injury rehabilitation. Good luck! Minas Constantinides, MD
I'm 31 and have always been thin but for some reason my neck seems to look way older than it should– especially compared to my friends who are the same age (see photo...I'm the one in white). There isn't saggy skin, just not enough fat. Is there anything I can do to correct this problem? Thanks!
If your neck is too thin, then filling it can definitely make you look better. Options for filling include fat transfer and any subcutaneous injectable filler. However, most hyaluronic fillers would be difficult to place smoothly throughout the neck. I have had excellent results using highly diluted Sculptra for neck filling in thin necks. Be sure you find an expert who has had a lot of experience, since the neck is very unforgiving when it comes to showing irregularities and lumpiness. Good luck! Minas Constantinides MD
Hi, I am 39 years old, male and had a chin augmentation 5 years ago (which I liked) and Filler a few times. I want to improve my jaw line, the middle and upper part of my face look very good. According to your experience, what advice can you give me? (not surgey please)
I would suggest replacement of your chin implant with an extended anatomic implant as well as minor liposuction to your neck and jowl areas.
Good Luck.
