Type 1 Diabetic with somewhat stable but not perfect blood sugar would like to know if anyone has treated anyone who is Type 1 and if the healing time/complications were worse. I am 45, blond, 110 lbs, fair skin. Thank you very much.
I am quite familier with type I diabetes. Although wound healing is somewhat slower in these patients, but there is no reason that with the appropriate precautions & goal setting that you could be treated. I have treated patients with type I diabetes without any problems to date. Discuss with your dermatologist for various available options for the condition you like to be treated.
I am Asian,27,female.I have some deep Acne scars, and just finished the 4th fraxel restore a month ago.If I wanna achieve the best result, regardless of the time and money,(but safty is always important!I dont wanna leave any new scars by the treatment.)Should I continue to do fraxel restore or choose repair instead? How many fraxel restore are equal to one repair according to ur experience?THX!!
I am not aware of any study that did multiple side-by-side comparisons on same patients with both Fraxel Repair (0ne treatment) on one side and a series of Fraxel Restore treatments on the other side. Fraxel Repair has a slightly greater risk of scarring and both the Repair and Restore have a risk of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Acne scars can improve but they won't go away entirely. There are limited numbers of Fraxel Repair treatments that you can have safely. Fraxel Restore can be repeated numerous times with improvement.
I have been on the ACNE.ORG regimen for four years and has worked awesome. The regimen consists of gently washing, applying 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, and then moisturizing morning and night. I'm having the repair done in a few months but only on a fraction of my face that has scarring. Just wanted to know how soon I can go back on this regimen so I don't start breaking out again. Thanks!!
I recommend that patients wait for about one month before application of potentially irittating substances like benzoyl peroxide or Retin-A. The skin is still undergoing intense healing the first month after treatment. THis is evident by residual erythema as well as scaliness of skin during this time period.
