What Does my Skin Need TO Correct Damage After Fraxel re:Stores?

This is one year post a series of 3 Fraxel re:stores. Please let me know what I need to do to correct this damage. Am I still healing? I have been on Obagi Nu Derm for 5 months without the hq. I use LRP Anthelios (european version) sunscreen.

A: fraxel restore for facial rejuvenation

The photographs are not demonstrating clearly the type of damage you have. You should see an experienced laser surgeon such as a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon and have your skin examined closely. Texture, and coloration can be improved at times.

Lumixyl or Meladerm Prior to Fraxel Restore?

My dermatologist uses Hydroquinone for skin bleaching. I however get irritation when using Hydroquinone. My pigmentation appeared darker after using it (I did use sun screen). I want to use Lumixyl prior to my Fraxel Restore treatment on 21 July. How long before my treatment should I start using Lumixyl and how long after my laser treatment should I start using Lumixyl again? Can Lumixyl have an adverse reaction and trigger pigmentation after my Fraxel ? I am Fitzpatrick skin type 3. Caucasian

A: Elure or Lumixyl can be used as lightening creams before Fraxel laser

There are different preparations of hydroquinone and some have had corticosteroid mixed in both to reduce inflammation from irritation and to decrease pigmentation by its own effect. Both Lumixyl and Elure are non hydroquinone chemicals. They can be used instead or in addition to hydroquinone prior to laser resurfacing to minimize the chance of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Hydroquinone may be more effective but if your skin doesn't tolerate it then it shouldn't be used so that you avoid pigmenting for this reason. Sunscreen is important and your doctor who does the Fraxel laser should tell you what sunscreen to use and when to start.

Is It Ok To Have Fraxel Co2 if You Are Trying to Get Pregnant?

Should you have fraxel c02 if you are tying to get pregnant? Is it then safe to continue while you are pregnant?

A: don't have Carbon Dioxide laser if you're trying to get pregnant

Carbon dioxide laser, whether fractional or non-fractional, requires several days of healing. THere can be special requirements in post operative care depending on your individual course. You don't want to risk scarring or pigmentation problems and the hormones of pregancy can influence the healing.  If there were to be special treatments, such as antibiotics by mouth, or topically, anti-viral medications, anesthetic, sedatives, to be used during and after the treatment, your doctor might not be able to use them if you were pregnant and it might compromise the treatment or final result. It is best to do such an elective cosmetic procedure after you have completed nursing your infant should you become pregnant, or when you are sure you are not pregnant and not trying to conceive.
