I am at the end of braces treatment. I have a crown on one before last back tooth that has to be replaced because of decay under it. There is no braces bracket on that tooth. Can a crown replacement be done while I have braces or I have to wait until I get them off?
If there’s decay, the crown should be replaced. There’s no benefit of keeping the crown with decay under it. With time the decay will only worsen and your tooth will suffer more damage. I recommend you see a dentist for an evaluation at your earliest convenience. Good Luck!
I had two crowns and two bridges placed on to my upper front teeth, I have never been satisfied with them is there anything I can do besides having them replaced?
I always show my patients the final crowns and bridges in their mouth prior to final cementation. Were you not shown the product like this for your approval? I would be unusual if that were not the case. If it was, why did you not discuss the size problem with your dentist?
Unfortunately at this point you must redo them but please look at the carefully before they are permanently cemented.
Will they cause halitosis? What type of crowns offer the best fit? Thank you.
Crowns have no odor to them however if there are spaces between them that harbor bacteria or poor fitting margins that can do the same, an odor can occur.
