What Is the Healing Process Like for Butt Implants?

hi everyone , im thinking about getting a butt implant im very thin and would like a bigger butt, what im most scared is that im gay and I'm wondering if being intimate will affect my butt implants? i can imagine many gay people get them but i would rather ask doctors like you guys this question, thank you!

A: Intimacy after butt implants...

After having buttock implants, soreness can occur for up to 2 weeks depending on  the specific procedure and the individual.  Any discomfort can be controlled with pain medication which will be prescribed to each patient before the date of surgery.  Patients are usually able to return to work within 10 - 14 days.  Although the implants themselves will not be affected, patients must wait at least 4 weeks post sugery or until they no longer have any tenderness before being intimate.  If you have any questions or concerns it is strongly recommended to discuss them with your surgeon.

Buttock Implant Shifting Positions

I would like to go ahead with buttock augmentation using implants. If I choose implants that are wider at the base or oval shaped then what are the risks and chances of them rotating or shifting positions? Have any surgeons experienced patients with this problem with shaped implants?

A: Buttock implant rotation

Nougat,

The chances of an oval shaped buttock implant rotating are probably very minimal.  I personally have never seen that happen either in my patients or other surgeons' patients.  In theory it is possible however.  So, you should consider a round implant if you are concerned.  Rotation of a round implant is obviously of no concern because it is the shape in every position.  Good luck!

Are Butt Implants a Longer Lasting Solution Than Fat Transfer?

i work out almost every day i lift weights and my butt is still very flat and i have no hips i am very thin and i dont really want butt implants would like fat transfer but im scared i will pay alot of money and i will loose all the fat again.

A: Buttock implant surgery vs. a brazillian butt lift...

Buttock implant surgery versus a Brazilian butt lift using fat transfer has some pros and some cons.   First a buttock implant surgery is a permanent procedure, but does have some possible risks such as fluid collection around the implant, or movement of the implant.  This procedure should only be performed by a board certified plastic surgeon who has had extensive training and knowledge of this surgery.  A Brazilian butt lift on the other hand is a more common procedure.  First, Liposuction is performed on areas of the body such as the stomach and thighs, and then the fat is processed and finally transferred to the buttock area.  Some of the fat may be absorbed back into the body but a good portion of it may be become permanent, and additional injections can add to the result.  Discuss your options with your surgeon to choose the best options for you.
