If I have my flanks reduced, what improvement does the MPX system offer?
SmartLipo MPX was a significant advance in SmartLipo technology, as it increased power, blended wavelengths, and was more versatile. It also incorporated temperature sensing to make the procedure safer.
Now I'm strictly determined to loose the weight I gained before my upcoming smart lipo mpx in November 2011. Will the weight I gained affect the outcome results of the smart lipo mpx procedure? Will it make my abdomen and love handles look less flat and slim? I greatly appreciate your answers! Thank you!
In general, patients that are near to ideal weight or moderately overweight have the best results with liposuction, including SmartLipo. If you were to gain weight afterwards, you would likely gain it more preferentially in areas that you didn't have liposuction. SmartLipo generally gives better results than tradtional liposuction, as it gets better skin tightening and somewhat less swelling and bruising.
I am 29, active, no kids. I had a consulatation with a Dr. in San Antonio that is board certified. I want to have lipo in my lower/upper abs, "love handles" and back. I was told about traditional liposuction and Smart lipo. From the information that I received Smart Lipo seemed to be right for me. My main concern is that my Dr recommended GA, due to the fact that some patients find it uncomfortable with the tucking and pulling feeling. Is GA worth the money?
In general, anesthesia options for SmartLipo, as with traditional liposuction, include local anesthesia, sedation anesthesia, or general anesthesia. For limited areas, or for a patient that doesn't mind the discomfort of the local anesthesia, local anesthesia alone, perhaps with an oral dose of Valium, is adequate. For more extensive areas (and yours is bordering on this), sedation anesthesia is more comfortable for the patient. In addition to the local anesthesia, an anesthesiologist puts an IV in and gives sedation anesthesia (like for a colonoscopy), so the patient can't feel or remember the procedure. Full general anesthesia not usually indicated for liposuction.
