Hi I am 6 weeks post-op from a full tummy tuck & want my PS to do a scar revision on me at the 6-12 month mark as my scar is very high ( he doesn't seem very willing to do it). He also did not do repair on my diastasis recti and I have a 3 finger separation. ( I have very good skin skin with no stretch marks from pregnancy) if I can convince him to do the scar revision would I be able to have my muscles tightened/ sewn together at same time? Would my skin need to be peeled back to ribcage again?
I have this facial scar right above my lip from a dog bite. This happened 2 years ago. The scar is not deep or wide, but I had to get 3 stitches. The scar now is white and sligtly raised. I am 14 years old and asian. I was wondering if I could do anything to remove this scar? Natural or surgical, whichever one can remove it. Thank you very much.
It is very difficult to assess the nature of the scar based on these pictures. Generally speaking, there are several ways to improve the appearance of scars including filling (if they are depressed), resurfacing techniques (lasers, dermabrasion, electrodessication, chemical peeing), re-excision, and/or certain topicals. I recommend you consult with a board-certified dermatologist or facial plastic surgeon for evaluation and discussion of treatment options. I have attached a link to a gallery of photos of scars treated with filler and resurfacing techniques.
While it is very difficult to assess based on your pictures, it does appear that your scar is in fact hypertrophic (raised up) and discolored. Treatment options include intralesional Kenalog (cortisone) injections, revision surgery, laser treatments and topical treatments. In my office, I get great results with intralesional Kenalog and topical treatments and so that is where I would start with your scar. I recommend you consult a well-trained, board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon for evaluation and discussion of treatment options. Keep in mind, it is not possible to replace a scar with no scar.
