Q: How do I choose the best breast implant for me?

A:

Start with a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon, especially one who has a large experience with implants. You must be 22 to choose silicone implants. When evaluating a patient we take a close look at their build (skinny, medium or full bodied) and how much breast tissue  they have. Skinny patients with very little breast tissue often do better with silicone implants, which have a softer look and feel.

Sizing is very important, and we use 3 methods of choosing implant size.

1) We have implant sizers (inserts for a sports bra), which we have you try on.

2) We have you hold the sizer over your bare breast and look at a mirror to see how the overall size pleases you.

3) We take a 3D photograph of your chest and "preview" what different size breast implants may look like.

Sizing, along with the advice of an experienced surgeon, should help maximize your satisfaction.
