I am 45 years old (male) and have hollow cheeks. I would like to know what type of treatment could be the best and the safest with least side effects? Thanks
Cheek hollows will do very nicely with injectable fillers. You will have excellent results with minimal to no downtime and minimal discomfort. In our practice, we do a lot of cheek filling with injectable liquid silicone as it is a fantastic facial filler and is permanent (saving the patient money and time). When injected with the proper technique by a board-certified dermatologist or facial plastic surgeon with expertise in using silicone, LIS is an ideal filler for cheek hollows. The most important thing is that you consult with a board-certified dermatologist or facial plastic surgeon experienced in the use of injectable fillers. I had a consultation with a surgeon near me for a nose surgery and the operation is scheduled in a month. I recently decided I would also like cheek implants and I rather not pay for another consultation and prolong my initial nose surgery to add in a cheek procedure. Would it be seen as sneaky if I ask my surgeon on surgery day to also include cheek implants on that day? If you were in that position as the surgeon, would you insist a seperate consultation is needed or perform on that day?
Each surgeon is different. I do not charge for a consultation and have you come a second time before your surgery to re discuss what will be done. If you wanted something else done, you would have to tell me then. On the day of surgery, I would not add another procedure. Especially if I had to get implants and there was a separate charge.
I am a 26 yr old male who is considering some form a cheek filler. My cheeks are slowly starting to look sunken in right underneath my cheek bone. The small depression starts near the labial fold and underneath the cheek bone. I have been reading a lot about Radiesse and what it has done and has not done for others. What would you guys suggest as the best option? Thank you-
From your description it seems that very little volume would be required to correct the hollowness you're developing. I use restylane, juvederm, perlane and radiesse to augment cheek volume with equal success. I think it is best for someone your age to stick with these temporary options. With age your volume requirements to maintain young looking cheeks may eventually increase. Much more volume augmentation can be achieved with cheek implants or microfat transfer which are more appropriate for patients with poor cheek bone structure, cheek atrophy due to aging, or lipodystrophy.
