Can I Get Liposuction After Coolsculpting?

love handles and fat on top of coccyx

A: CoolSculpting does not prevent having liposuction

You may choose to have liposuction after CoolSculpting but if you are inclined to doing the surgery soon, then you might wish only to have the liposuction and save the money from CoolSculpting as liposuction is more efficient at fat removal than Zeltiq's CoolSculpting. Possibly you can't afford the down time right now from liposuction but realize you don't get a quick fix from Zeltiq.

Getting Lipo and Going on Vacation 5 Weeks After, Enough Time for Recovery?

I'm a 5'5" 115 lb female looking to get lipo on my abs and love handles. The earliest I can get in is 2 weeks. I'm going on vacation 5-6 weeks later and moving after that so I want to get the procedure done beforehand. Will this be enough recovery time to go out and enjoy a vacation?

A: liposuction and vacation thereafter

Unless there is a rare complication, you should certainly be able to travel. Bruising will be gone by then, but the surface can still be somewhat swollen and irregular making you uncomfortable to wear a bathing suit possibly.

How Does Abdominal Etching Work?

I know ab etching involves lipo, but how does it differ from traditional liposuction?

A: abdominal etching with liposuction

Abdominal etching is controversial. Some doctors do it with very nice results, but it involves very superficial and aggressive liposuction decreasing the fat in linear areas so that the skin almost sticks down to the underlying muscle. It can create a problem with not enough blood flow to the skin and risk development of an ulcer and eventual skin scarrring. There could even be long term soreness from the scarring holding the skin down in the creases.
