There doesn't appear to be any fluid at this point, but the swelling is severe. It begins right above the incision and is in the exact area that the seroma was. My abdomen was flatter pre surgery. Is it normal that the swelling is still present? It seems to be getting worse each month. What can I do to make it go away?
Unfortunately persistent or undiagnosed seromas will ultimately result in the development of a seroma cavity. This is a thickening of the tissues that is best compared with a rind on an orange. It causes persistent swelling in the lower portion of the abdomen which naturally defeats the whole purpose of the tummy tuck in the first place. At this point in time it is doubtful that this will resolve and your surgeon should re-operate to excise the cavity which should give you a nice flattening of the lower abdomen.
Hi, I am 22 years old and gave birth to my son 3 years ago. The result is a post-pregnancy pooch, wrinkles and some loose skin, but mostly under the belly button. I still look a couple months pregnant as a result. I consider myself active and have pretty strong abdominal muscles. What procedures would suit me? Ive heard of Velashape, thermage, and the mini tuck. Please tell me what is right for me. Thank you to anyone with advice.
Hi Shelly,
If you desire the flattest and tightest abdominal contour, the only choice would be an Abdominoplasty including lipolysis and diastasis repair. The other treatments you mention are not as definitive and probably not give you the results you desire. Good luck.
I am a 26 year old African American Female with one 4 year old daugther.I weigh 168 want to weigh 154 but when I did weigh 152 at the begining of the year my stomach still had lose skin.My upper abs are great, but my lower abs suck due to c-section and loose skin. I want 1 more child, but have been trying for 2 years with no results,I want to do something about my stomach now! Should I have a tummy tuck or would vaser lipo do the trick?I have seen vaser lipo deliver flat stomach for my skin type
Thanks for the photos. Your best option is a LipoAbdominoplasty with Diastasis Repair. It appears from your photos that you have loose hanging skin, a protuberant abdomen and significant excess fat. Lipolysis alone will not correct the loose skin and protuberant abdomen.
