Okay, I want to know if it's possible to give me a mini tummy tuck w/ umbilicoplasty without touching my muscles??? I have one or two stretch marks nothing major and my c section scar doesn't look bad at all. I work-out 5 days a week and am very fit. I am looking to have the little bit of extra skin removed in the lower abdomen and if possible my belly button moved to fix the indent above it? I don't mind if the incision is larger than my c-section.
From looking at your photos, it appears that you are certainly a reasonable candidate for a mini tummy tuck. That would mobilize the tissues up to the umbilicus (belly button) and take out a small ellipse incorporating your old C section scar. Inferior muscle tightening is not necessary although commonly performed, and you will find that the inferior tension on the umbilicus will make it appear more taut. You do not need to have it re-positioned nor would be it be feasible. Some of the inferior stretch marks would be removed and the remaining ones would appear less noticeable.
Im 27 years old, 5'1, small built and my ideal weight is 105 lbs, after my 2nd baby my belly blew up and gotten stretch marks that i never had from my 1st pregnancy, im very unhappy with the way my body turned out, after a year and a half ive gained 20 lbs and i still look like im pregnant and i work out 2-3 days a week and still not losing weight, what should i do?
Based on your photo Cindy, I would say that neither of these procedures are appropriate in your case. You have too much abdominal laxity for a mini tuck and liposuction alone would only make matters worse. You also have laxity to your abdominal musculature and would require a generous plication (tightening) of the entire rectus sheath. This is best accomplished with a full abdominoplasty and liposuctioning of the your lateral and posterior hips with the end result being a much better contour to your figure. Neither a mini tummy tuck nor liposuction would give you a result that you would be happy with and I am sure would not be recommended by your plastic surgeon.
I was prepared for the stretch marks from pregnancy, but not the sagging skin and permanent "muffin top" look that I have when wearing tighter clothes. I don't like the invasive nature of a full tummy tuck, and don't need my stomach to be perfectly flat and smooth. I just want the saggy skin at the base of my belly gone, and things to be a little firmer so there is less bulge when my clothes show my tummy outline. Would a mini tummy tuck be a good option, or would it look worse?
From looking at your photos, you will really benefit far greater from a full abdominoplasty with a bit of liposuction in the hip area than you can with a mini. Even if you remove half of the tissue between your umbilicus and pubis, along the natural curve that has developed, the scar length itself will be almost the same length as one with a full tummy tuck, so there is no distinct advantage from that standpoint. Even with combined liposuction of the upper abdomen, you are still going to have laxity in the peri-umbilical area and above. Also if you are trying to achieve a nice flat silhouette, then you should have plication of your rectus fascia.
In other words you will not get anywhere near your ideal result with a mini tummy tuck versus a full. Hope this helps.
