It's been one month since my breast augmentation procedure. I'm happy with the size and shape, though I would consider going slightly larger. Part of the reason I would consider going larger is in the hope that the gap between my breasts would be minimised. Changing sizes would cost a great deal of money, which I'm hesitant to go through with. Are there any alternatives? Do you think they are too far apart? Any honest advice would be greatly appreciated.
every woman is different. the space between the breasts is not the same. the breasts are where they are and the surgeon must center the implants on the nipples, wherever they happen to be. your implants look to be properly positioned . appears that your surgeon did a nice job!
I would like to get breast implants but before i do i would like to know about breast augmentation prices. How much do breast implants cost?
As noted by others, the cost of breast augmentation can vary greatly depending on where you live and what the top surgeons in your area charge their patients.
Besides the surgeon's fee, the biggest contributors to price are the type of implants used, where the surgery is performed and anesthesiologist's fee.
That said, more important than cost is finding a surgeon that is not only experienced in all types of breasts, since they vary greatly, but also one that is highly recommended and can show you many before and after photos of cases similar to your own. For those interested in a bit more detail, Dr. Aldea's answer provides terrific insight and is certainly worth reading.
The surgeon should of course be board certified in plastic surgery, especially given the confusion caused by the influx of MDs trained in other disciplines now attempting to perform this and other cosmetic procedures.
In the Albany NY area, the cost of a straight forward augmentation ranges between $5,000-7,500 depending on the type of implants used and the reputation and experience of the surgeon.
Can the same "look" that I am hoping for be achieved in either saline OR silicone? I am wondering because I read of some people who feel that saline looks very round and fake and silicone does not. IS that the case? or does it all depend om anatomy and implant style (moderate or HP) or size (cc)? My BOARD CERTIFIED PS.. with multipal hospital privelages.. has chosen for me 375- 425 cc mod plus mentor silicone gel. final decision will be made in O.R.
in general, silicone will look better (more real) in many women. in some women, the difference is much more evident than others. women with very little of their own breast tissue, as well as those who are quite thin (ribs show) should strongly consider silicone implants rather than saline. for women with good soft tissue coverage and at least a modest amount of their own breast tissue, this decision is less critical and they will get a nice improvement with either choice.
