Hello, I have had one rhinoplasty and one revision, I think the side of my nose has collapsed, is this an easy problem to fix? photo of my nose shows my problem, red circle shows the specific area in question. Thank you Chris
I read your concern and reviewed your photo:
The surgical solution for your problem is not easy, and might require cartilage grafting like a spreader-graft to improve the indentation in your nose. If you're breathing fine, you should consider a second revision rhinoplasty as a last resort. You may not have adequate nasal-septal cartilage to repair this, and your surgeon may need to use ear cartilage or rib cartilage.
In my practice, indentations like this may be improved with an Injectable Filler treatment. My personal preference is to use Silikon-1000, an off-label filler for permanent results.
Hope this helps you.

6 Months ago I had a septorhinoplaasty to correct a severe preforated septum. my nostrils now look uneven, one looks "pinched" My surgeon now advises me that an alar rim graft should fix this problem so I have a surgery scheduled to remove a little scar tissue and have the graft put in my nostril. My question is: what is the recovery like for this surgery.I looked HORRIBLE after my first surgery and it took MONTHS for the swelling to go down I am really traumatized that my nose will look bad again
I read your concern. It is difficult to advise you without a photo, so consider re-posting your question with a photo for the RealSelf experts.
In my practice, I have had good success lowering retracted nostril margins with Silikon-1000, an off-label filler for permanent results. I prefer this to alar rim grafting for many reasons.
I attached a photo demonstrating non-surgical nostril lowering with Silikon-1000 for your perusal.
Hope this helps.

I had rhinoplasty a year ago. My nostrils are significantly uneven and I am not happy with the overall result. My surgeon removed more skin from the left side. It's uneven to the point that other people notice looking straight at my face. My surgeon said he can do a revision however, he is charging me more than the first time since I now have scar tissue. Is that the norm? I think he made an error when he did the surgery and he should waive the surgeon's fee.
Since your surgeon would be charging you, and since you're not satisfied with the nose job he performed, consider getting a second opinion. If you want opinions from the RealSelf experts, you may want to address your concerns with photos attached.
Hope this helps.
