Should I Avoid Second Hand Smoke in a Casino 5 Days Before Breast Lift?

I am having a bilateral mastopexy in 5 days. I would like to go out tomorrow night with my husband (possibly to a casino) and there will be smoking. Should I not go because of the second hand smoke? I am not smoking but I am worried about being around it before my surgery. Thank you so much.

A: Smoking and surgery

Even second hand smoke can hurt your result and result in significant complications as noted as the other physicians that answered.

I also like to point out that even the nicotine patches, nicotine gum, and the like can hurt your result.  To minimize complication risk, minimize your exposure to any form of nicotine.

I hope this helps, good luck!

Is ArteFill Safe in Larger Volumes when Used for Facial Lipoatrophy?

is artefil safe in larger volumes? i.e to be used for facial lipoatrophy? I live in the Uk. I'm prepared to travel, how do i find an experienced surgeon to permanently fix my face?

A: Sculptra preferred over Artefill for facial lipoatrophy

In our practice lipoatrophy is best addressed by fat grafting (fat removed from one part of the body and placed in this area as a graft) or a Sculptra treatment.  Sculptra is a substance which stimulates your body to build up more tissue in the area where it is injected. The FDA has approved its use for both facial lipoatrophy due to treatment for HIV as well as its cosmetic use for soft tissue filling.

Options For a Wide Forehead Reduction?

I've read that it is possible with hair transplants, but is there any other way? I've heard there's a way to lower your foreheads length by making an incision in the fine hairs, and putting the forehead skin over it and it'll grow through the scar, or something. Is this procedure possible when attempting to reduce a foreheads width?

A: Wide forehead reduction or high hairline?

If want you mean by a wide forehead is a high hairline and if your high hairline is due to male pattern baldness than the best treatment would be a hair transplant. Surgery performed to reduce the amount of visible forehead skin would possibly leave a well camouflaged scar at the front of your hairline now but as the hair loss continues it would become quite visible. A forehead lift can be done this way but typically its to address brow height and wrinkles not the position of the hairline.
