Deep Wrinkle on Cheek That Doesnt Go Away with Fillers, What Other Options Do I Have? (photo)
twice I have gotten Juvederm injected to fill that line that you see on my cheek and to no improvement whatsover. Once with a dermatologist and the other time with a plastic surgeon. I am 23 yrs old so i dont know if its just genetic or aging, but I desperately need to get rid of it. Basically what happens is when the filler is being injected, for some reason the filler fills AROUND the line and not the line itself. My dermatologist thinks its scarred tissue that may need to be cut off. HELP!!!
A: Fillers may not be best for deep wrinkles on the cheekThese depressions in the face can be difficult to treat and I find they are particularly annoying to patients who only have them on one side of the face, so it really stands out. Fillers often don’t work because the problem is a connection that has formed between the surface layer of the skin and the deeper tissues. This connection leaves no place for the filler to rest when it is injected. It is forced to either side of the connection making the wrinkle look even deeper after the treatment. The best way to fix this problems is to use a special instrument to free this connection and then fill this space with your own fat. This gives a long lasting, soft appeareance with near normal contour.
What Should I Possibly Expect For My Tummy Tuck Results If I Keep Losing Weight? (photo)
I am 26 yrs old & have had 2 C-sections. I'm 5'4" exactly, 185lbs & have a good amount of muscle from working out throughout my life. Since I had my babies, I found that I can lose weight everywhere BUT my 'fat roll' that hangs over like a flap of skin. I have continued to lose weight and will continue even after my TT. I was 145lbs at my comfortable weight and would like to eventually get there. My question is, what can I expect to have after my TT now & later if I do lose more?
A: lose weight firstNo doubt that losing the most weight that you can will give you the best result post tummy tuck. The skin excess will better to correct for after weight loss has reached maximum. The other big issue that you need to think about since you are only 26 is whether you are done having kids. Make sure you are not planning to get pregnant again before having any surgery to correct this area. Good luck!

Should I Avoid Second Hand Smoke in a Casino 5 Days Before Breast Lift?
I am having a bilateral mastopexy in 5 days. I would like to go out tomorrow night with my husband (possibly to a casino) and there will be smoking. Should I not go because of the second hand smoke? I am not smoking but I am worried about being around it before my surgery. Thank you so much.
A: Smoking and surgeryEven second hand smoke can hurt your result and result in significant complications as noted as the other physicians that answered.
I also like to point out that even the nicotine patches, nicotine gum, and the like can hurt your result. To minimize complication risk, minimize your exposure to any form of nicotine.
I hope this helps, good luck!
