Why Wouldn't Lipo Be Done in Combo with TT? 48 Yrs 120 Lb Loss

Why Wouldn't Lipo Be Done in Combo with TT?  48 Yrs 120 Lb Loss

A: Should Lipo be done when an Abdominoplasty is performed...?

Typically Liposuction on the flanks is done when an abdominoplasty is being perfomed for better contouring.  Most patients require a little contouring to achieve the best results, however if you have had massive weight loss it is probable that primarily the skin needs to be removed.  It is not advisable to liposuction the abdomen heavily when doing a tummy tuck because the blood supply could be compromised and the tummy tuck skin may not heal as well.  I would contact a board certified plastic surgeon to see what you would be a candidate for.

I Have a Fatty Mons Pubis and I'm Considering Lipo. Are There Sexual Complications to a Procedure Like This?

I am so ashamed of the fat I have on my mons pubis. It hinders me from so many things in life. I always had a larger area of fat in that region, but I noticed a real difference after some weight loss/gain. I am about 40 pounds overweight right now. I'm dieting and exercising but I can't seem to lose in that area. I wanted to know what may be the best procedure for me. I actually have pretty good skin tone, and it's definite fatty tissue, not bone. Also, can this procedure decrease sensation?

A: Liposuction for a fatty Mons Pubis...

Liposuction for a fatty Mons Pubis would be a perfect solution to get rid of unwanted fat.   This procedure can be performed under local anesthesia with little or no down time.  There are no serious risks involved, except for maybe some swelling and soreness.  Your sexual capabilities will not be affected as a result of the surgery.  I would try to get to your target weight before the procedure.  Make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options and concerns.

Heat or Ice for Liposuction Swelling?

Will Heat or Ice Help with the Lipo Swelling?

A: Ice or Heat after Liposuction...

If ice or heat makes you feel better, then you can use them, but they will not really help with the swelling.  Patients are usually given a garment to wear which will help reduce swelling over time and encourage skin contraction.  Patience is important because it will take some time to subside.  Continue to follow your post op instructions and wear your garment as directed.
