I am coming up on a year since my facelift surgery and am unhappy with the blepharoplasty results. My surgeon agrees that he will have to do more to achieve proper results on my neck but when I said I was concerned about my eyes, he said it was just my skin. After paying a small fortune for this surgery and understanding that the results would last for years, I am disappointed. I really like my surgeon but I am not happy with the results.
Went to an occuoplastic surgeon after 14 months of misery - he told me that my lower lids were loose and though my tear ducts were producing tears, only 1/2 of my eye was getting the benefit of them. He said my eyes were being pulled down at the outer corners, He told me to try and stretch the skin and loosen the ends. I'm in a nightmare. I tape my eyes shut at night, and wear sunglasses during the day. My life is forever changed. Help?
Your situation needs a careful evaluation which starts with an examination. It is difficult to know what your problem is from a single photo. If your problem is related to dryness. There are many procedures that could correct the lower eyelid position and improve your symptoms. These include canthoplasty, tarsal strip, or horizontal lid shortening depending on the clinical findings. Find a plastic surgeon with an interest in eyelid surgery.
Hi, I've started noticing my ptosis at the age of 6. Actually my parents friends started noticing, we didnt. And now at the age of 32 I decided to fix it. The doctor has told me that it is congenital and he will tighten the tendon and also remove a bit of eye lid skin. I just had my eye lid ptosis surgery 1week ago. The swelling and bruising went down and tomorrow I am removing my stiches.I am not seeing even slight improvement and am quite upset about it. Should i hope for any improvement
Any eyelid swelling tends to push the eyelid down, so the eyelid still can come up over the next few weeks as the healing progresses, but you may need a revision if it is too low after 6 months or so. Oculoplastic surgeons generally have the most experience with repairing ptosis, but unfortunately ptosis repair sometimes does not work as expected and needs to be repeated.
