How Long Will Partial Eyelid Droop from Botox Last? (photo)

I was given Botox injections on 1/26/12. 5 days later on 1/31/12 I noticed that my left eyelid was drooping. My brows are even, only the one eyelid is drooping down close to the top of the pupil. I was prescribed Apraclonidine .5. It took a few days to start working, but now right after I use the drops my eyes almost look even, though still not 100% normal. Can anyone tell me when I may notice a permanent improvement? It's been 12 days since my injections. I'm desperate!

A: Droopy lid from Botox

The good news about Botox is that it goes away in 3-4 months if you don't like it.  I have found that a problem like yours (droopy lid) usually goes away much quicker than the 3 months, usually 4-6 weeks.  You may have an underlying droopy lid that you have been compensating for or you may just have the Botox in a spot slightly off causing this problem.  The drops you are using will get you through this.  Be patient, this too shall pass.

Botox and Potential Dangers of Platysmal Band Injections?

I'm a 45 year old woman considering botox for platysmal bands but very concerned about swallowing/breathing difficulties reported. However unlikely. I have googled any number of key words, but not been able to find what kind of dosage level the people had who had trouble? And would it be a sensible strategy to have the dosage in two batches - say 20 units one week with another20 the next? To establish that placement of the 1st ok and neither dosage of itself big enough to paralyse esophagus?

A: Side effects of Botox injections into platysmal bands

Botox injections of platysmal bands can greatly reduce the appearance of vertical neck lines. To decrease the risk of side effects from platysmal band injection with Botox, very small amounts of Botox should be injected per site - approximately 1-2 units every 2 cm of the band.

I would not suggest repeating the injections in a week as full action of Botox may not fully manifest until 2 weeks after injection.

The most important point is that you have the injections performed by a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon with training and experience in Botox injections.

Is There a Way to Reserve the Effect of Botox on Jawline?

Hi I got a Botox (Dysport) injection on my jaw line 2 weeks ago and I'm starting to notice my jaw line slimming down. I'm satisfied with the result, but I'm concerned because my friend told me that repeated process of Botox injection make your body tolerant to Botox and will not give me the same result as it did in the first place? Is this true?

A: your friend is wrong

you can use Botox or Dysport repeatedly for many years. It is extremely rare to develop resistance to the drug. It should work the same for many many years.
