Are More People Satisfied with the Results of SmartLipo over Traditional Liposuction?

Who are the typical candidates for Smart Lipo? Who are better candidates for traditional liposuction? If Smart Lipo has limitations to the amount of fat removal, then who gets this procedure and what is the most common body area that it is used on?

A: Smart liposuction vs traditional liposuction

Liposuction is the removal of fat from different ares of the body. Traditional liposuction uses suction and the mechanical forces of movement of the cannula. Smart lipo user laser energy to melt the fat and then traditional liposuction is used to remove the melted fat and other remaining fat and fluid. Deciding which technique will give the best results depends on the location, amount of fat, skin quality and other factors. A board certified plastic surgeon who does both frequently should be able to advise. I have been performing smart lipo since it was introduced in or around 2008 and traditional liposuction even longer. They are both great techniques

Am I a Good Candidate For A Tummy Tuck or Liposuction? I've Never Been Pregnant, Lots Weight Recently.

Hi, I have lost 30 lbs recently, now I weight 107 lbs, and 5'1". I never been pregnant in my life, and since I was overweight for almost 20 years in my life, I still have some fat in my upper + lower abdominal areas, flanks, and upper back. Will liposuction help or tummy tuck help to scupture my body in this case?

A: Tummy tuck vs Liposuction

A tummy tuck, also known as an abdominoplasty, removes unwanted skin and fat and repairs the  separation of the muscles on the stomach. It typically requires an incision in the bikini line long enough to remove the fold of skin. The belly button is not moved but the skin around is pulled down and removed. Liposuction is generally the removal of fat only and  we see some degree of skin contraction afterward. You would need to be examined by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to determine which procedure is right for you.

What Are My Options If I Do Not Have Enough Fat For Much Needed Fat Transfers?

I was butchered by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. He liposuctioned more than a dozen of the wrong parts, not only disfiguring me, but causing functional damage to my knees - he lipo'd the front of my knees for no reason and without my consent. He lipo'd my perfect calves without my consent and they are concave. I have damage from my abs to my calves all around my body and don't have enough fat for fat grafting to all the damaged parts. Do you know anyone who is doing fat multiplication?

A: Fat injections, need fat

You may think that you do not have enough fat for fat injection but you may have enough. I sometimes have to harvest fat from different parts of the body such as the abdomen, back, thighs, arms etc to obtain enough fat. The fat is harvested with liposuction and  I use different size and style cannula for the different body areas. On occasion I have asked patients to gain weight  before the surgery, 10 to 20lbs depending on the need. Currently, there is no method to grow a person's fat cells. There is a new company that will freeze and keep you fat removed at liposuction to be used later if needed.
