I am about to have breast implants, but since I don't have a lot of breast fat on the upper breast area I was considering having a fat transfer as well. Is it ok to have the fat transfer procedure done AFTER I get the implants?
After breast augmentation if further upper pole fullness is wanted, fat grafting this area would solve the problem. It would create a soft, natural looking upper breast shape. It is good to wait several months after the breast augmentation to make sure that you need to have it done. You also need to have fat some where that you don't like so the doctor can take it from there. The fat is harvested with liposuction. Then you will have improvement in two areas of the body. I do a lot of fat grafting and the results are great. Good luck.
Hi there, I had a porex implant of a certain type, and moved to a bigger size (also porex) as the first implant was subtle to say the least. The current implant however is too big with edges so I want to revert to the initial implant I had and attempt to augment it will a moderate fat transfer. My concern will be that fat will not hold with so much scar tissue because the blood supply might be affected. Is this your experience?
Fat transfers work well but require significant expertise. The nice thing is that it can obviate the need for an implant. The downside is that the amount of fat that remains after initial healing is inconsistent thereby necessitating repeated procedures. This is usually a procedure that can be done in an office setting under local anesthesia. Once you get the final results, it can last for many years. At some point, permanent implants require revisional surgery--that's just the way it is! Good luck.
had full face fat injection about 2 weeks ago but am noticing that areas uder the eyes and lips still dont have enouth volume can i do fillers after fat transfer, is it safe ? is there any particular time frame that i should wait before i do the fillers?
Sure, you can have fillers placed following a fat transfer, however, you need to wait longer than 2 weeks--probably more like 3-4 months at least. Also, you may just want to have more fat transferred to the areas of concern. Fat is a great filler, it's just not as predictable as fillers off the shelf. But once you get the the look you want, the fat will last much longer than fillers. Good luck!
