How Long Will Partial Eyelid Droop from Botox Last? (photo)

I was given Botox injections on 1/26/12. 5 days later on 1/31/12 I noticed that my left eyelid was drooping. My brows are even, only the one eyelid is drooping down close to the top of the pupil. I was prescribed Apraclonidine .5. It took a few days to start working, but now right after I use the drops my eyes almost look even, though still not 100% normal. Can anyone tell me when I may notice a permanent improvement? It's been 12 days since my injections. I'm desperate!

A: Droopy lid from Botox

The good news about Botox is that it goes away in 3-4 months if you don't like it.  I have found that a problem like yours (droopy lid) usually goes away much quicker than the 3 months, usually 4-6 weeks.  You may have an underlying droopy lid that you have been compensating for or you may just have the Botox in a spot slightly off causing this problem.  The drops you are using will get you through this.  Be patient, this too shall pass.

Best Treatment for Chronic Inflammatory Reaction to Restalyne?

I had restalyne injected in my tear troughs 2 1/2 months ago and I've developed chronic inflammation issues. The pain is not so bad as the neurological symptoms including depression and inability to concentrate. Prednisone has helped in the past, but is less effective at the low dose recommended by my PCP (10 mg) and I don't tolerate high dosages well. The doctor who did the restalyne is reluctant to use wydase fearing another bad reaction. What is the best treatment for this complication??

A: Restylane side effects

If you feel the Restylane is causing your problems then I suggest you dissolve it with the enzyme hyaluronidase (Wydase).  Once it is dissolved then you can be sure if your symptoms remain that there is something else also going on.  It is possible that you have 2 or 3 problems, not just the Restylane.  Hopefully it will all resolve with the Wydase.

I Got Restylane Under my Eyes but Want More, How Long Should I Wait Before I Get More?

I Got Restylane Under my Eyes but Want More, How Long Should I Wait Before I Get More?

A: Restylane under eyes

Restylane works great to fill in the tear trough and hollows under the eyes.  If you feel you need more I would wait about 2 weeks.  This gives time for any swelling to settle down and any bruising to go away.  At  2 weeks you should be optimized to see if indeed you do need more filler.
