Dr. Assad samra, A great doctor! He is really good at what he does, very informative. You feel very safe in his hands! Bedside manor is wonderful. I would not be able to get through what I have been faced. I am so lucky that with a horrible disease that was thrown my way, dr. Samra has made journey much easier to deal with. My experience is that, I had Stage 3... more
I was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer a year ago. Chemotherapy and radiation was the standard treatment for my case but I decided to have a double mastectomy in lieu of radiation. I met Dr. Rafizadeh after I had completed chemotherapy to perform the breast reconstruction. The pathology reports after my double mastectomy indicated that I breast cancer would have returned eventually and I... more
After my double mastectomy, Dr. Samra performed breast reconstruction on me with implants and fat grafting. He did a fantastic job. I am thrilled with the results. My reconstructed breasts look and feel more natural than I ever thought possible. Dr Samra is a wonderful doctor. He takes a lot of time to explain every procedure in depth so you know exactly what to expect, he is sensitive,... more
Dr Rafizadeh came highly recommended after I received my breast cancer diagnosis. You know you are in good hands when other doctors send their wives there for reconstruction. Dr Rafizadeh was so patient, kind and understanding thru the entire process. I always felt that he had my best interests in mind, which is so important when you are overwhelmed with your diagnosis. The nurses in... more
I am a BRACA2 gene carrier. I had the gene test done after my second sister was diagnosed with breast cancer. Though she caught it "early" we learned there is really no such thing and the cancer had reached her nodes and after two lumpectomies had to have a mastectomy followed by chemo and radiation. I was facing a difficult decision. Once I realized it was a matter of when not if I too would... more
A month and two weeks ago I had undergone my first surgery. My left breast was an A cup and my right breast was a C cup with premature sagging and a much bigger nipple as compared to my left breast. I am 19 years old and had first noticed this difference when I was 14. Since the age of 15, my breasts have stayed the same way so we finally decided it was best to take action. My plastic surgeon... more
Looked flat after postop...was disappointed because i felt after all i went through you couldnt see them dr was great, but you must realize to go bigger for radical mastectomies, because you loose half your implant in chest cavity. ive since gone bigger to 800 ccs...yes i am 6 feet tall, and 175 lbs. look thin, but am large boned. my bra size is 36 c, with 800s. yes, hard... more
I did not consider any cons at the time. All I knew was: I may die from cancer soon, and if I'll survive, I wanted to look "normal" after bilateral mastectomy. I was not told about life of the implants, about MRIs to check them, etc. I am 60 years old. I have saline implants for 17 years after bilateral mastectomy. They look and feel OK. Should I do anything to make sure they... more
