Can you tell me more about the benefits you can get from Fraxel laser resurfacing? What sort of skin problems get the best results from Fraxel?
There is no easy way or one way to answer this question. With the Fraxel re:store (which is the less invasive laser treatment) you can treat acne scars, sun spots and skin discoloration.
However, since this treatment does not have much downtime (slightly pink for a day or two), the results from one treatment are not that great. It usually requires 3-5 treatments to see lasting and very noticeable results.
What I mean by that is that acne pits improve but not go away, hyperpigmentation spots may completely go away and your skin texture and complexion is very improved. It is not great for skin tightening. Remember, that your skin type as well as how bad your starts out, plays a role in how good your results can be.
With the Fraxel re:pair (the more invasive one), you treat similar conditions except that it also significantly improves skin tightening. This is a one time (sometimes two times) treatment that can improve your skin by 50-70%.
However, there is a week of downtime and then another week where you look like you have gotten a bit too much sun. Acne pits really improve but not go away, spots improve by 70% and the skin is smoother and tighter in one treatment.
I hope this helps.
I paid one thousand eight hundred pounds last year, for four sessions of Titan laser treatment. on the font of my neck last year, and there was no improvement to my neck at all. I am 64years old, my face is very good, but the front of my neck from my chin to the bottom of my neck, is now very crapey. fraxel, has now been recommended, but I am unshure of having it done, in case it doesnt work, and I lose even more money. What would you suggest please. Thanking you in anticipation. Vivien.
I think that one treatment with the Fraxel re:pair laser is the right thing for you. I feel that this laser tightens the skin so you will see on average a 50% improvement (the company says up to 70%) in skin quality, fine lines and sagging. The Fraxel re:pair combines the fractionated technology with a CO2 laser.
I'm 28 years old, light-skinned, and with freckles, smile lines, eye wrinkles, and a few sun spots. I'm after a safe, one-time treatment with good results for these problems. Should I go for Fraxel Laser?
For someone with fair skin looking for a one time treatment to repair sunspots, lines and wrinkles, the Fraxel re:pair is a wonderful choice. This technology is safer than the old CO2 lasers. Please make sure you go to someone that has been specifically trained for the fraxel re:pair. There is about one week of down time, but it has been my experience that patients can start wearing makeup in about 3 days.
Hope this helps.
