I am deciding between getting a U/L transconjunctival bleph or that procedure combined with fat transfer to the cheeks and and perhaps under eye if needed. I have bags where fat needs to be removed and transposed. In addition, I have a very gaunt face (flat cheeks) and temples. Will the swelling from adding fat to my cheeks distort my eyes or stitches? Is it best to do the eyes alone, add fat later?
A blepharoplasty and fat transfer to the cheek and eye area can easily be combined. Using fat grafting under the eyes in addition to upper and lower blepharoplasty gives the hollowed areas under the eye and cheeks additional volume and improves the skin condition. Fat transfer is done by gradualy building up the areas with multiple injections thoughout the year to reach the desired youthful appearence. There will be some swelling from the procedure but it does not interfere with the blepharoplasty sutures. Consult a baord certified facial plastic or plastic surgeon to see if you would be a candiate for this procedure.
A week ago, I had a neck lift and fat injections to the face. I'm pleased with my results, however I am unable to smile. Is this normal? Is this caused by the injections, too much fat, or both? Will I be able to smile?
Since surgery was only a week ago, you are probaly just experiencing swelling and tightness which is normal. This usually resolves within two to four weeks. The important point is that the smile should gradually get better each week. If it does not, then be sure to discuss it with your surgeon. Damage to the facial nerves is pretty uncommon, so give the swelling some time to subside, and in the meantime, continue to keep your head elevated and follow your post op instructions.
I've always had very thin skin under my eyes that I inherited from my mother. I also have my dad's bone structure so the shadowing makes my dark circles even worse. When I stretch the skin I can see there is no discolouration I am very interested in fat grafting as a semi permanent solution, Im happy to fly to america to get it done, these dark circles are seriously affecting my mental health Do i look like a good candidate for under eye surgery? what is my best option? thanks
Fat injection works great under the eyes. It is a very simple process to go through and can give long lasting results. Under a local anesthetic, the fat can be harvested from a love handle. It is then processed and injected under the eyes in a couple of sessions spread three months apart. The fat is predictable, long lasting and looks very natural. Certain fillers like Juvederm can be unpredictable under the eyes due to the fact they can absorb water and cause swelling. From your photo, you look like you would be a good candidate, but be sure to be seen by a board certified facial plastic or plastic surgeon first.
