Have Vertical Line That Looks Like a Scar from a New Botox Injection- Will This Go Away?

Had botox from a new person and she injected the inner corners of my lower lid saying that I would be "very happy" with the results. I have never had injections in this area before and did it with some trepidation. Now there is a vertical crease emanating from the outer corner of my right eye that looks like a scar and an eye bag that was never there before three days ago. I look horrible. The left eye was mostly left alone because i winced when she did the injection and that eye is fine.

A: Botox problem near the eye

I would recommend you go back to you doctor and discuss it with them.  It may be you need an adjustment that they can perform.  If not Botox effects go away in 3-4 months and it should return to what it was before.

Sincerely,

Dr Gartner

Is Botox Only Good for Certain Face Wrinkles and Lines?

or does botox injection help with all facial lines and furrows?

A: Botox for facial wrinkkles

Botox works on wrinkles that are caused by muscle movement.  It is excellent for reducing wrinkles in the glabellar area, forehead and crows feet.  It can also reduce wrinkles in the neck area, around the mouth and chin area.  It is important to have an experienced surgeon perform the botox injections.

What is the Usual Botox Recovery Time?

How much time should I allow for recovery from Botox injections? What kind of limited activity, etc., can I expect?

A: Minimal botox recovery

There is really minimal downtime after Botox injections.  In general, one can receive Botox injections at lunch time and return to work immediately.  Infrequently, there could be slight redness at the injection sites and even slight bruising. The only restriction is that we tell patients not to rub the area for a few hours.
