I have very large nostrils and I would like to get rhinoplasty but is there maybe a "do-it-yourself" method to make the nostrils smaller or at least push them up so they are not wide but longer?
Unfortunately, there is no "do it yourself" method for making the nostrils look smaller. A full Rhinoplasty is usually not required for just narrowing the nostrils. It may be possible to perform only an excision of excess nostril tissue under local anesthesia to give you the look you want. However, it is very important to have a consultation with a rhinoplasty specialist for a full evaluation. Often times the tip may have to be adjusted at the same time as the nostrils in order to have a balanced result.
Hello, 10 weeks post Rhinoplasty (Open surgery w/packing) and still having problems breathing through my nose. My nose sometimes whistles. My doctor said it is allergies but I have never had allergies and don't have any other symptoms. My nose still feels very tender so I am leaning towards swelling or perhaps my nose was injured during the surgery. Working out is very difficult and breathing through my mouth is unattractive. Should I see another doctor or give it more time to heal? Thank you.
The nose should not be obstructed for longer than two weeks after a rhinoplasty. If you had a septoplasty as well, then it can take up to one month to get back to good breathing. The tenderness is normal. The whistling noise is not. You might have a nasal septal perforation. I would advise you to get a second opinion as well with an ear, nose and throat doctor to get checked for nasal allergies or other sinus type issues.

I just got my nose done a week ago and I really want to use a pore strip on it. Would it be okay to do it this early on?
Do not use the Biore (or similar) nasal strips after a rhinoplasty for at least one month. In the initial healing period you can harm your skin and worst yet, your nasal tip. It is almost like waxing. You can cause irritation of the skin leading to more swelling or you can move the nose making it crooked.
