I want to get rid of my freckles/ I have tried IPL- w/o success. What laser should I go with? I am looking at Fraxel, Medlite C6, Gentlemax... cant decide which one would work the best? (by the best I mean: the best results, fewer treatments, less downtime? dont have a whole lot of money to spend...fraxel=more expensive but is fraxel=most effective also true? thanks for any suggestions..
Fraxel is an excellent laser that helps patients with freckles, sun damage, wrinkles and mild to moderate skin damage. Most patients do very well with three treatments in the begining, with an occasional maintenance treatment thereafter. There is very little downtime associated with Fraxel. After the procedure you are left with what appears to be a bad sunburn which can be covered up with concealer. The Medlite C6 or YAG laser is great for individual freckles and can work well after only one session. If your face is covered with freckles you should probably go with the Fraxel. One thing to remember is that the sun will make the freckles come out again, so use sunblock. I would make an appointment with your plastic surgeon to see if you are a candidate for the Fraxel or Medlite procedures.
There seems to be a lot more lasers nowadays with technology constantly improving. Does anyone know of any laser which is suitable for treating wrinkles for patients who suffer from dry eyes? I would be extremely grateful to find out.
A full examination by a highly specialized surgeon who performs these procedures all the time is first and most important step. The CO2 laser can be performed to improve the skin under the eyes without worsening the dryness but it has to be done carefully. The exam may reveal that the eyelid needs to be tightened or lifted to improve dryness, and this could be done in combination with some laser.
Which laser? I have haggard looking skin. HUGE pores seen from space, scars, some wrinkles, fading elasticity, sun damage, some redness . I'd like PLUMP SKIN w/elasticity, the look of smaller pores, less noticeable scars & wrinkles. I had light chemical peels, microdermabrasion treatments, & one laser treatment w/no down time at all. Those were good exfoliaters but not aggressive enough. Will a stronger laser erase some of the edges around large pores & scars, making them appear less noticeable?
If the more superficial treatments do not work, then a deeper resurfacing with the carbon dioxide (CO2) laser is the answer. As long as your skin type is light enough to allow the procedure to be done, then the CO2 laser can provide a tremendous result. You will have a recovery time of around 7 days and possibly some redness after that (it can be covered with makeup though). Consult you board certified plastic surgeon to see if this laser would work for you.
