I am 5 weeks post tummy tuck. My upper abs are very flat but right below my incision is extremely distended . It's as though I have a donut around my belly. My PS says this is where the swelling naturally travels but I keep wondering if it is a seroma. I cannot find pictures of a seroma on the web. the area is even all the way around . I cannot fit into my old clothes and am worried. Please help.
It is perfectly normal to have some swelling at this stage, however you could very well have a seroma. It is impossible to say without seeing you. A seroma is a fluid collection that will often feel water balloon like when you push on it. Sometimes you can push on one side and feel a wave of fluid move around the tummy. I would have your surgeon look at it because I don't think photos will tell you one way or another. Good luck!
I just found out I am 3 weeks pregnant and have a tummy tuck scheduled for this week (that has been scheduled for 3 months now). Will my PS still operate if I chose not to go through with the pregnancy?
In my opinion you should absolutely hold off on the surgery. Your surgeon should understand. It is not ideal to have a tummy tuck if you are not finished having children nor is it ideal to undergo anesthesia while pregnant since there is some added risk. Good luck with the pregnancy!
I just recently have a tummy tuck and liposuction, after my doctor remove the drainage I was still collecting seroma and my doctor extracted with a syringe. a two weeks after my last extraction I feel like a hard ball on the top part of my abdomen close to my ribs cage. is the a hematoma or seroma? will massage help to minimize and how long would it last?
It sounds like a seroma given your history, however, it is hard to say without seeing it. I would have your surgeon take a look and maybe try to aspirate. It could also be scar tissue.
