I'm curious if there's a weight difference between silicone and saline breast implants.
I am in total agreement with the panel of surgeons who feel that the differences are negligible. More importantly is what is your frame like?. How wide you are?, how much breast tissue will be covering those implants?, What is the height and width of the areola?. How tall you are? Will you be better suited for over vs under the pectoral muscles? A lot of planning goes into the correct algorithm for each patient. Good Luck.
I've had my implants for about 6 years, but last year I had stitches added to the breast pockets to make the implants sit closer. Everything healed fine, except I have incredibly sharp pain in my left breast whenever pressure is applied to it. I can't sleep on my stomach, wear tight sports bras, or get massages anymore. At times the pain is so bad it brings tears to my eyes. My surgeon moved to Canada so I can't go back and see him. Do I need to go see a new doctor? Thanks!!
It sounds to me like you have a neuroma. This is a condition caused by a nerve being trapped in a suture, or upon being stretched or injured, sprouting ends create a very fiscally painful area. A good examination will help decide if this is the problem. A nerve block can help diagnose this. If it is a neuroma, an ablation of the nerve can be performed using radio frequency or alcohol injection.
Hi I had breast augmentation on nov. 4th it's been 10 days and I'm wondering how long on average do implants take to drop? I received mentor memory gel implants 800cc's submuscular, with infra-mammary incision. I was a full c cup before I don't know what info. is relevant but I hope this helps :0) Ty
You have provided all the pertinent information. Sub muscular implants have a phenomenon whereby the muscle contracts due to the implant position, and in my experience it will take 4 -6 weeks. You have a big implant(800cc) so the weight of this larger implant will assist in the coming down process. Other factors include how much skin laxity you had preoperatively. Be patient, do your massage exercises and good things will happen
