I've been told by all the surgeons I've spoken with that I have thick skin. I believe it too as the skin on my nose tip is extremely oily & when you squeeze it, the skin feels really thick and fatty...spongy really. I had some tipwork done and there is ear cartilage in there. It's been 1 year and 3 months- no change. Nose still big. I am afraid to get a kenalog injection because some people have said it caused problems. But what I do know is that it thins out the skin. Should I get it? Thanks.
Kenalog will soften scar tissue but will not thin thick skin out typically. Using Kenalog in order to thin the skin is not indicated, not reliable and can cause atrophy of tissue below the skin in irregular shapes.
I had my surgery on Feb 2nd today (2/7) I had stitches removed yet nurse said crust was protecting my nose so she couldn't remove. She did say I can put cream to soften the crust. I was doing so and had little bits of crust following for the rest of the day. I just out a little more with a q-tip and a huge clump of blood and crust came out. I'm worried now that the inside won't heal properly.
It is quite common for dried blood that looks like crusts to be inside of the nose after a rhinoplasty. They can be stuck to the absorbable sutures or to nasal hairs. Their falling out is normal and will not negatively affect your result.
I recently broke my nose and had to get surgery to fix it but my cartilage needs to be reconstructed so I have been referred to a cosmetic surgeon. Am I able to get a free nose job if I have already been referred to one? Will he shave down parts of my nose I dislike?
I do not think you should expect the surgery to be performed for free. When a surgeon does cosmetic work along with reconstructive work on a nose surgery, you should expect to pay for the cosmetic portion out of your own pocket.
