I have a round dark flat mole right on my lip. What are my options of removing with minimal scar. How much would this cost?
Even though you may think the mole is benign, it's always best to have something like this removed as a small shave biopsy - no stitches or anything - and have it sent to a lab for review. Using a laser, while in theory can result in a cleaner removal, you never have the ability to have the spot reviewed for possible pre-cancer or other abnormalities. Particularly when moles are dark and near the lips, nose, ears, hands, and toes, you need to have them sent to lab. A shave biopsy should cost a few hundred dollars at most, and having the assurance that nothing was wrong with the site will be worth it.
Hello, About three months ago I had a couple moles removed from my stomach via the shaving method (i.e., no stitches). I'm hoping to minimize the current redness as best as possible before summer comes and I'm at the beach. I'm guessing it's too soon to resort to excising the scars, so I'm wondering what some good workarounds might be (laser treatment/s?). I'll be visiting my dermatologist for an opinion, but I'm interested in your thoughts, too. Thanks,
A few flashes of IPL or Laser Genesis can be done after moles have been removed and there is light redness left. I do this on many, many patients after removals and it helps even out the skin tone, as well as soften any scarring that exists.
I have mole on the inner breast cleavage area and need to have it removed. Is there any chance they will puncture or pop my breast implant by using a small needle to numb to area? I am very worried and don't want to take any chances of them doing this , but also afraid of having skin cancer?
It would be unusual for your implant to be damaged from a mole removal procedure. Typically, the medicine used to numb the skin prior to a biopsy is injected just below the skin surface. It would be a good idea to let your doctor know that you have implants.
