Some doctors can do liposculture with tummy tuck at the same time but other say it's risky. I'm confuse, is safe to have lipo in the mid area at the same time of the tummy tuck?
The concern with liposuction of the abdomen at the same time as a tummy tuck is that the blood vessels that are needed for proper healing come from the ribcage downward. In the performing of the liposuction, if the fat in the deeper area is treated, it is safe. But if the fat in the superficial skin layers is treated, then the risks go up because it is in that superficial layer that the blood vessels that are needed course through. The less skin undermining that is needed for the tummy tuck, the safer the liposuction will be if done in combination
I am 2 weeks post "liposculpture," which was both Vaser and smart lipo. I've developed bands of hard, tight tissue across my abdomen and back, where the procedure was done. They make it hard to stretch. My doctor's office says to stretch and they will go away over time,so I'm not that worried, but my doctor never said anything about them preop. What are they? They have the consistency of a taut seat belt and make it very hard to stretch. Also, I've had bloody "seromas" drained 2x so far.
It is not uncommon to have stiffness of the tissues after liposuction as the passing of the cannula into the tissue will cause bruising of the tissues and these tight bands can form. They are essentially scar tissue and with time, massage, stretching and heating pads, they get better. Not all patients get them, but the larger the amount of fat removed and the larger the amount of post op fluid collection there is, the higher the chance of it occurring.
I had Liposoft 3 days ago on my Inner Thighs, Flanks, and Lower Abdomen. Just wondering when I can return to cardio exercise - elliptical trainer etc. I usually train 6-7 days a week and am very frustrated by doing nothing. The pain is not too severe, occasional electric-type pains in the treated areas.
A week off normal activity is what is recommended in most cases.
