What are the most likely desirable outcomes of a brow lift when I'm really only trying to minimize frown lines? How often does the procedure need to be repeated?
The frown lines that are most reliably improved after a brow lift are the glabellar wrinkles, the horizontal wrinkles of the forehead will be smoother while swollen, but unless a subcutaneous brow lift is done, the horizontal wrinkles will be minimally improved.
I am 45 with no sun damage to my skin, however I have bad acne scars on my forehead. I have had dermabrasion when I was 25, followed by two CO2 laser treatments, and 4 Fraxel laser treatments. I have also had Deep FX. None of these worked for my forehead acne and in fact I do believe over time simply modified the scars by softening the sharp edges, while making my skin look the texture of cottage cheese in that it is severely dimpled all over from the various lasers.
The subcutaneous brow lift could help stretch the skin and make the acne scars look better, but that skin will lose it tightness over time and the results will likely not be for about a year, a maximum of up to maybe up to three.
Fourteen months ago I had a brow lift (endotine implants). I now have lagothalmos in both eyes, (left eye 2mm short). I have mild upper lid asym. The "lago" caused chronic dry eye and I need ongoing treatment. My surgeon recommends lowering brows some to recover eye lid coverage. The more affected eye has slightly lower brow, not a correlation. My Opthamologist says surgery could make it worse. He recommends plugs or gold implants for affected eye. I have cosmetic and health concerns. Help!
If there is enough skin to allow the eye to close at this time, then reversing the forehead lift will likely not help. If that is the case a gold weight to help the lid drop might be a better choice. If the eye that is dry is the one with the higher eyebrow, you can try Botox or Xeomin ton that side only to see if weakening the muscle will allow the lid to close.
