Arm Lift for Stretchmarks??

A tummy tuck removes stretchmarks from the stomach..does an arm lift remove stretchmarks from arms?? Thankyou

A: Arm Lift May Remove Wrinkles Depending on Their Location

A brachioplasty, or arm lift operation will certainly remove stretch marks in a similar way that they are removed during a tummy tuck.  It all depends on where the stretch marks are, and whether they are included in the skin excision pattern on the inside of the arms.

Arm Lift for Wrinkly Arm Skin After Weight Loss?

I am 54 and recently lost about 45 pounds and my arms have developed very wrinkly skin. Will an arm lift help?

A: Excess skin in arms after weight loss

First, congratulations on your successful weight loss!  Arm lift or Brachioplasty surgery is best suited to those patients who have loose, empty skin in the upper arm and desire more confidence in their arm appearance. After surgery there is less loose skin, however, the trade off is a scar from near the armpit to the elbow. An experienced, board certified plastic surgeon can assist you in deciding if this surgery is a good option for you.

Would Photos Be Enough Before Surgery or Should I See the Doctor?

I live in Ireland and wish to get my Arm Lift procedure done in New York. Would I have to attend visits before the procedure or would photos be enough for the surgeon?

A: Still Need to be Seen Before the Operation.

Sending photos and filling out forms over e mail can be helpful, but one still should see the doctor a few days before the surgery.  It is there the doctor can determine if you are a candidate.  He may see something that needs to change the plan, or may preclude you from surgery.
