What is Lipodissolve? Is It FDA Approved?

Can you please explain to me what exactly Lipodissolve is? Also, is it safe or approved by the FDA yet? Thank you.

A: Lipodissolve is mesotherapy

Lipodissolve is technically mesotherapy injections. These injections are done to treat fat and adipose tissue in specific areas - like a "muffin top", or "saddle bags" or neck, or abdomen, or other places that hold excessive fat. There are many, many mesotherapy "cocktails" on the market, but only few are proven to work. In my office I use either phosphatidile choline (PTC) or deoxycholate.

Does This Amount of Swelling Look Normal After Lipodissolve? (photo)

Why do they call this a "lunchtime" procedure if you are so swollen you cannot go out for a few days without people saying "WHAT the HECK happened to your face?"

A: Swelling from Lipdissolve

No, this is absolutely NOT a normal amount of swelling at all. You need to return to the injector for an evaluation. I have injected mesotherapy/lipodissolve for years and have never seen anything like this. I think you are having a severe reaction to something in the lipodissolve or a possible other infection. You need to be evaluated asap by a physician.

Safe to Get Lipodissolve While Pregnant?

I'm in my first trimester and I wanted to get Lipodissolve to slim down my thighs. Is this OK to do? Is it safe to have Lipodissolve if you're pregnant?

A: Absolutely no Lipodissolve while pregnant

Lipodissolve is done with chemicals and drugs that are not fully tested or proven. There are no standard recipe or formulation to the drugs that are used. Even in the non-pregnant person, the procedure is experimental.

I would not want to recommend a procedure that was untested to a pregnant woman. There is no reason to risk the health of your baby to this procedure.

Any medical person that would offer this procedure to you, knowing you are pregnant, should be reported to the state medical board.
