What is the Recommended Time Between Removing and Replacing an Implant?

I posted "What's considered normal incision leakage after a breast lift/reaugmentation". Thanks for the great responses. On that Sunday my PS removed both implants. Drainage was sent to lab for diagnoses (awaiting results). Now, phase 2. Currently, I have drainage tubes (minimum drainage). My breasts seem to be healing well. I'm in no rush to have them replaced (fear). But, would like a feel for what's normal. My PS said in a few weeks?! Just wondering?!

A: typical waiting period after removal of implant is 3-6 months

Waiting 3-6 months after removal of the implant is standard, depending on the extent of the infection.  I would agree with you from your pictures and be in no rush to replace your implants.

Do You Recommend a Breast Lift w/ Implant Removal?

At 18 & a 32C I got implants to a full D. Now 33 with 2 children I am a 32F. I want to have my implant removed, would you recommend a lift? Also would it be difficult to guesstimate my size after the removal? Thx

A: Breast Implant Removal

What you have experienced is a very common scenario. Breasts that are large and sagging can be made smaller, youthful looking, and perkier by removing the implant and performing a breast lift. The final size that would result depends on the amount of tissue that you have overlying your implants, and a rough estimate is made only after an exam. I would anticipate a large final bra size if you are currently an F. Breast lift is recommended to tighten and elevate the breast tissue. If you simply removed the implant, the sagging would be more apparent as a result of the deflationary nature of implant removal. Mastopexy or Breast Lift is a great procedure and most women after childbearing benefit from this operation.
