I'm skeptical what's the difference between these two deep CO2 lasers. The fraxel repair treatment is more expensive then the deep fx treatment and i need treatment for medium deep pitted acne scars. Not sure which laser to get?
After having observed and performed CO2 laser, Fractionated Laser and multiple other procedures for scars, it is my opinion that none of them work all that well other than injections of fillers for certain scars and the modest improvements that occur with Intense Pulsed Light for certain scars that are red.
The costs of the laser procedures typically are huge and the results are slim, which makes patients end up disappointed and unhappy. It's unfortunate that most patients don't see actual results (without makeup!) of the after pictures as that would lead them to change their mind, especially when compounded with the down time and pain/risks of the invasive laser procedures.
I am 25 years old and after years of harshly treating my acne I am left with some mild scarring and bothersome dynamic wrinkles from smiling - these are not nasolabial folds, but instead lines that extend at abou 45 degree angles from the fold. These really bother me. What is my best option? I assume fraxel repair - but would consider traditional c02 if that offered better result potential.
Usually dynamic wrinkles are best treated by either fillers or botox or a combination of both. Laser does a better job on the fine wrinkles, while it doesn't really do all that much for deeper ones or ones that occur when you smile.
In the meantime, you should consult a board certified cosmetic surgeon to see if fillers can help. Typically, that would be the best choice in this area. Good luck!
I am female, 30. I had fraxel repair (En-40mj, 60% ) a year ago to treat post acne ice-pick scars. All face except forehead, eye area, chin and nose. Several months later my skin structure turned grainy, burned-like, dull with multiple micro-wrinkles. I keep my skin well hydrated. But worst of all is that the laser came close to and scuffed part of the eye area, creating a scar, concavity and eye puffs (photos). Why did it happen? Is it possible to cure my skin and remove the eye puffs.
After looking at your photos, it looks like you have what are the remnants of the previous scarring. While Fraxel does help to some extent, there will always be some 'trade-off' involved. You will have some improvement of scarring, but the skin appearance will always be different after the procedure compared to before.
Hopefully, focus on the good things it did as the changes look minimal and hopefully the other parts did well (I only see one picture on your link). Good luck!
