I read that Botox has some side effects like droopy eyelids. Is Botox safe? Any tips for making sure my Botox (first time!) has no bad side effects?
Botox is very safe with minimal side effects. Botox only lasts 3 months, so if you did get a droopy eyelid it would subside when the Botox wears off. An experienced Botox injector would be able to adjust the dosage and technique to prevent a droopy eyelid from occuring again. Make sure you have a board certified physician perform or supervise your Botox injections.
What is prevalence of crystalline/metallergic type of materials oozing out of botox inj sites 4.5 months post botox causing inflam, swelling/hardening of tissues of both upper and lower eye lids;slowing lymphatic pathways/swelling both the upper/ lower eyelids. There are many significant dangers of getting this treatment done outside of a surgeons office, do you know why these treatments are allowed outside of a plastic surgeon's office? How often do you refer post surgical and botox MLD work?
If folks are getting inj on their face to relax the muscles to calm down the wrinkling aren't the injections affecting the muscle circulation directly, incl venous/lymphatic flow and won't BOTOX affect surrounding tissue from cms to inches around the injection site/s? Y are we not suggesting patients get MLD work on their face to prevent and heal wrinkling? Our vanity & quick fix is going to be a detraction. Are BOTOX positive affects a guarantee of never wrinkling again?
Botox does not cause the side effects that you have mentioned. My guess is that you did not have "real" Botox injected. Make sure you go to a board certified physician to obtain your Botox. Receiving injections from pharmacies and "mall spas" are not a good idea and could lead to the type of problems you are experiencing.
I have deep forehead creases and I got my first botox treatment (12 units) about 7 days ago. I am noticing a slight change but not much. How long should I wait to get another treatment? 7 days, 14 days, etc?
While you can see some benefits of Botox at 7 days I recommend waiting for 10-14 days to see maximum results before going back in to consult with your physician about touching up or getting more Botox.
