How Can I Tighten and Decrease my Breast? They Are Very Heavy and Hanging.
Dear Tanyasaini, Because there are multiple reasons that cause breasts to sag and hang, there is a spectrum of procedures to treat this problem. For some women, a Mastopexy or commonly called a "breast lift" is the procedure of choice where the excess, loose breast skin is removed but most of the breast volume is maintained. For other women, the sagging of the breasts is due to excess weight as well as excess skin and so a breast reduction procedure is recommended. The best way to determine which procedure is the right one for you is to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon who after listening to your concerns and preforming a detailed examination can give you the options best for you. Hope this helps and good luck.
What options would be best for me?
Dear Ioana4783, Thanks for your question. With just a frontal photo, it is difficult to be exact but it does not appear that you would need a breast lift if you are planning to have a breast augmentation procedure and are happy with the shape of your breasts and it is really just an issue of size. If, however, you are unhappy with the fuller bottom portion of your breasts, then you may need to consider tightening this area of the breast however that would require an extra incision and a resulting scar. The difficulty with just a frontal photo is that we cannot determine where the IM fold-the place where your breast joins the chest wall-is in relation to the position of your nipples. It appears they are above the level of the fold and for most women that means that a lift is not required. Please consult with a board certified plastic surgeon who has significant experience in aesthetic breast surgery who after completing your exam and listening to your goals can advise you fully of your options. Thanks and good luck.
Hello. If I decide to have a breast lift with implants for how long would it be recommended for me to stay home from work? I am a daycare teacher. Thank you.
Typically patients after a lift and implant placement, in my practice, are back to work after a long weekend. With that said, I do not want my patients to lift over 20 lbs for the first 4 weeks. Thus, simply limit your more stenuous activities if you can at work and you will likely recover very well after a long weekend.
