I did otoplasty 1.5yrs ago.My doctor did what I asked him to: pinned the ears back but I wanted them to show a little bit,I didn't want people to notice the otoplasty. Strangely,I look in some mirrors and I like how my ears look and in others I don't like them.I don't know why I still have this issue with my ears. Is it worth it to do a revision otoplasty? Will this 'weaken' my ears long term?I do Jujitsu and don't want this to be comprmise training. I attach photos. Please give me your opinion
I agree with the previous posters - you have a very nice, very natural result. I doubt revision surgery will improve an already excellent result, and you may encounter unexpected problems. Enjoy your great result.
I want a permanent fix for my "dumbo ears" (big and sticking out) because I'm sick of wearing hats to cover them up and it seems like otoplasty is my only option...but I am afraid I'll end up more self-conscious about my ears if there are scars there plus everyone will know I had ear surgery.
What I want to know is - Where do they cut into you during ear surgery and are the scars really noticeable?
This is a common problem and you don't have to live with it! Your ears can be reshaped with small incisions behind the ear. You sound like a good candidate. Find someone you trust or come to our center for an evauation. Good luck!
How much does this surgery usually cost?
Reshaping the ears is a common procedure and generally runs about $3500. We often perform this procedure in children around 5-7 years when their ears have grown and they are starting to become self-aware. Since we specialize in facial procedures at our center we see many adults who are presenting for the first time and, in some cases, revisions. Find someone you trust or come to our center for an evaluation. Good luck!
