I'm a healthy young male who had a chin implant with a necklift and rhinoplasty done. I had a "tethered lip" so that was addressed as well. I'm numb like most people are but I can tell I don't have nerve damage. Like most, my lips feel weird and aren't working like normal but I can still talk fine. My concern is my face just looks a little "off" with the skin stretched and the lips are larger than normal and slightly asymmetrical. Do the results and appearance "level" out and look normal?
No, one week is not nearly enough time to see the final results! Check in with your surgeon for any lingering concerns but give it some time.
I am a 21 year old female. I am interested in getting a chin implant for my weak chin. I was told by my orthodontist 4 years ago that I should get orthognathic surgery but I decided against it. I am happy with my appearance except my chin looks bumpy when my mouth is closed and I have an unbalanced profile. Would I be better for jaw surgery or a chin implant?
This is a common consideration in many patients. If you want any improvement in your occlusion (bite) then you need the orthognathic surgery. If aesthetics is your main desire then a chin implant may very well be a great option. Follow up for an in depth consultation for further evaluation. Good luck!
I'm a 25 y/o female, with a very weak/small jaw. The distance between my neck and end of chin is very short, but my chin does not look very recessed in relation to the rest of my face. I had braces, when I was younger to correct a moderate overbite (which seems corrected). Would I benefit from a chin implant to strengthen the look of my lower face? Or would a jaw advancement be better? What about a sliding genioplasty?
Thanks for the picture. It also depends on your occlusion or bite which really needs to be determined by a consult. Aesthetically, a chin implant can improve the look of your face. You need to find a surgeon with facial experience that you trust and have a consultation. Let them guide you through these decisions. Good luck!
