I have done a Rhioplasty to reduce my nose size> In fact, I am 13 days post op and still have breathing difficulties! the air going really hard throw the nose airways even though I am following the post op instructions. Is this normal for until now? and how long this problem can persist?
At 2 weeks post op there is residual swelling that can cause nasal airway breathing difficulties. Another common cause is the formation of crusting in the nasal passages that accumulate because you are not blowing your nose this soon post op. This can easily be removed by your surgeon or his/her assistant. A call to the office might help alleviate this discomfort.
My open Rhinoplasty operation took place 16 days ago in NY by a Top Surgeon. I love his work, however, at the moment, I think my bridge seems a little too high. I once had a flat nose, however my bridge now starts from inbetween my eyes all the way down. I'm hoping the height of it will reduce. Is that swelling? Im not sure, what is swelling and what is'nt.
I advise my patients to wait at least 6 months and preferably a year before critical evaluation of the results. Swelling and shrinkage of the ti issues takes at least that long to reveal the final result. I do not think it is possible to accurately predict the outcome earlier than this time frame.
