About how long does Juvederm ultra plus last in lips?
I agree that it does vary from patient to patient. In my experience with patients Juvederm Ultra Plus usually lasts anywhere from 9 months to a year and that also depends on how much you inject into that location.
It is my understanding that there is an injectable remedy to reverse the effects of Juvederm and Restylane if a patient is experiencing unsatisfactory results. Is this true? If so, why wouldn't patients who are reporting results such as lumps and ongoing swelling, etc. be advised of a remedial option instead of waiting and suffering?
My practice is in the conservative Midwest, where too much can be a bad thing. Also, some of my patients are so new to fillers that even subtle changes can be scary. I often recommend starting out with a gel filler, letting the patient know that it is reversible. Experienced injectors can "read" their patients, and sense how much correction would be appropriate. The enzyme, hyaluronidase, can be titrated to make subtle corrections without losing the whole result.
My doctor told me that i can't be injected now with sculptra because i have been recently injected with Juvederm. My doctor told i have to wait about 5 months, because of some kind of interaction between both fillers.I didn't really understand what he was trying to say.
Can someone tell me more about this, because it seems like a lot of people are injected with both. Or is my doctor maybe too cautious ?
Injectables work well for non-surgical rejuvenation of the face. I often use gel fillers at the same time I am placing Sculptra, for these reasons:
- Gel fillers give a short term correction to areas that will take a longer time for Sculptra to correct
- Gel fillers enhance areas that Sculptra is not indicated for, such as the lips
- Gel fillers are great for line and wrinkle correction, while Sculptra excels at adding lost structure and support to the face by adding volume.
