Radiesse is one of my favorite fillers for cheek augmentation, lines around the mouth ( nasolabial fold), and jawline. Restylane or Juvederm are a much better choice for the delicate lip area. They are clear and soft and help to produce a beautiful fuller well- structured lip.
I'm 47 years old. I went for a consultation looking to find serums or products for my face. The lady I saw said not to waste time with products but said I look tired around my eyes and suggested getting Radiesse filler, Botox, and maybe Fraxel treatments. Well, I can't afford it all but am considering the filler since my under eyes are a bit dark and sunken. Should I look at other fillers or would Radiesse be a good one to start with? Thanks for your advice!
Radiesse is a great filler and one that I utilize al lof the time. It is wonderful for facial contouring of the cheeks, nasolabial fold, and jaw line. Radiesse has little calcium deposits in it and it is preferable not to use it around the thin skin of the eyelid. Most cosmetic surgeons would place the filler deep around the lower lids but if Radiesse were placed superficially it could be problematic. As an Ocular Plastic Surgeon my favorite fillers are Restylane, Sculptra and Juvederm around the eyes. You will find that each physician has their favorites and there will be some who do chose Radiesse. Most important make sure this is a physician who commonly treats around this delicate area.
Botox and fractional resuracing ( Mixto or Fraxel) can be performed simultaneously. It is impossible without a consultation for me to tell you which would work best for your case.
I offer all Realself.com readers, a recession buster, a liquid facelift that includes 4 syringes of Radiesse, Juvederm,or Evolence for only $1598 ( valid until May 31, 2009).
Almost 4 weeks ago, I had smile lines injected with Radiesse and was very pleased with the visual results. However, I now have some very large knots on the inside of my cheeks. I feel it has something to do with the injections, since they certainly were not there prior to the injections
Radiesse is a terrific filler for temporary diminishment of facial line and wrinkles. All fillers should look smooth once swelling from the injection decrease. Many fillers may not feel completely smooth especially during the initial healing period. Some of these "knots" may be the filler or could be caused by bleeding (hematoma) or a reaction to the filler. Return to your cosmetic surgeon who performed your injection and he/she should be able to help you diminish this knot.
