The beauty of Mixto fractional laser resurfacing is that it is truly customizable.  Without knowing your skin and settings used by your physician it is impossible to comment on your particular case.  That stated most non-facial resurfacing:

1. will peel for up to 14 days
2. energy levels are set lower than for the face so as not to harm skin while at the same creating beneficial changes
3. need a series of treatments

I do not have my patients use Vaseline nor aloe vera.  Please discuss the post operative regimen with your cosmetic surgeon.

Mixto fractional laser resurfacing works beautifully to help reduce scarring caused by acne. I woold not expect any CO2 treatment to worsen acne scarring when perfomed by a well trained cosmetic Surgeon. This CO2 (carbon dioxide) laser helps to deliver a precise matrix of Microspots that penetrate to the dermis and stimulate the formation of new collagen. At the same time, immediate shrinkage of damaged tissue is achieved.

Compared to traditional skin resurfacing, clients experience less downtime and are more comfortable during the procedure. It is unlikely that anyone procedure will completely smooth the skin from acne scars but my patients have noticed an improvement ranging from 30-60 %.

The Mixto improves pigmentation problems, reduces pore size appearance, wrinkles, acne scars, and other textural irregularities. The laser has an additive effect and many patients will notice greater improvement when they have multiple sessions.

The Mixto CO2 Fractional Laser resurfacing is great for skin rejuvenation and acne scarring. It is not a treatment for acne Rosacea. It should not improve nor worsen acne Rosacea. My patients who have both problems with wrinkles and Rosacea are usually treated first with the Mixto and then later with IPL treatments. This combination therapy is very effective.
